A beautiful glamping venue for up to 40 guests set on an Georgian farm in Co. Wicklow. The Old Forge Glamping is one of the best family glamping venues in Ireland.

Our Accommodation

Choose from the beautiful Log Cabin, Shepherds Hut open all year round or seasonal Yurts or Safari Tent and two luxurious  self catering barns.  Our glamping venue accommodates up to 40 guests at a time and we cater for singles, couples, friends, families and corporate groups and large groups.

Arrive down to The Old Forge Glamping and settle yourselves in for a relaxing, fun experience. Chill out with a rug over your knees beside the campfire overlooking the hills, while the kids run around in complete freedom. BBQ a delicious meal outside your tent and then get your s’mores ready for dessert!

Clean air and clear skies await you at the Old Forge Glamping!  For novice or experienced astronomers, the views on site, which boarder Ireland’s Ancient East are truly spectacular in this beautiful part of the world.

Relax at night by the campfire with a glass of wine, a rug  and enjoy the magnificent stargazing on a clear night. The crisp starry night skies have to be seen to be believed!

Yurts

(Up To 4 Guests, 3 Beds)

The modern day yurt is inspired by the ancient portable tent structures used by nomadic tribes in Mongolia over 2,000 years ago. Open April to October, choose  from; The Walled Garden Yurt, The Lawn Yurt or The Wood Yurt each one housing a comfortable double bed and two single beds.  

Each Yurt Includes:

  • Fresh bedlinen
  • Indoor heater, solar powered indoor lighting
  • A shared bbq and an outdoor table and chairs
  • A granite stone campfire for our guests to enjoy
  • Full use of the shared facilities: well equipped glampers kitchen, La Cabane cooking and hang out area etc.
  • Toilets and shower room are all less than 1 minute walking distance

Not included: Guests should bring their own towels

Walled Garden Safari Tent

(Up To 4 Guests, 3 Beds)

Open April to October, the Safari Tent is a stunning addition to our glamping venue that sleeps up to four, featuring a double bed and 2 single beds. Set within the old walled garden it has breathtaking views.  The views take in the old Oak wood where there lives countless birdlife such as buzzards, woodpecker, barn owls and even a peregrine falcon. Looking in the other direction is a view of Stookeen hill.

 

The Safari Tent includes:

  • Fresh bedlinen on 1 x double bed and 2 x single beds
  • Indoor heater
  • Outdoor lounge area with table & chairs for up to 5 people
  • Private bbq and campfire
  • Full use of the shared facilities: well equipped Glampers kitchen, La Cabane cooking and hang out area etc.
  • Toilets and shower room are all less than 1 minute walking distance.

luxury glamping bedroom

Log Cabin

(Up to 5 guests, 4 beds)

Open all year round, the lovely Log Cabin has a fresh white painted interior and contrasting wooden beams. It is ideally situated with breathtaking views across to the mountains. It features a double bed and three single beds.

The Log Cabin includes: 

  • Fresh bedlinen on a double bed and 2 single beds
  • Indoor heater
  • Solar powered indoor lighting
  • An outdoor table and chairs seating up to 6
  • A personal bbq and granite stone campfire

Sheperd's Hut

(Up to 2 guests, 1 bed)

Open all year round, our Shepherd’s Hut boasts stunning views of the expansive hillside. It has  a quaint  Dutch style stable door and sleeps up to two people in a cosy double bed. Enjoy a totally unique experience as you look out on our resident sheep flock or stargaze from your cosy bed!

The Shepherd's Hut includes:

  • Fresh bedlinen
  • Indoor wood-burning stove  – firewood is provided
  • Wooden rocking chair and cosy wool blanket
  • Stunning views of Lugnaquilla mountain
  • Private bbq and campfire

Shared Glamping Facilities & Areas

La Cabane – Outdoor Covered Campsite ‘Hang Out’ Area

La Cabane is our large wood outdoor ‘hang out’ area with a pitched roof and wooden decking, perfect for preparing food, dining, socialising and enjoying the beautiful views. La Cabane includes a long dining table with seating for us 22 people,  as well as tables and chairs on the wooden deck, a BBQ nearby and a brand new Oooni pizza oven!

Set up your very own campfire by La Cabane next to our beautiful woods and look out on spectacular Wicklow scenery. You will be surrounded by nature and may even come across our long eared barn owl, our buzzards, deer, foxes, badgers, stoats, pheasants, duck, and many more interesting species native to this particular part of the countryside.

Glampers Kitchen – fully equipped

In addition to the sleeping accommodation, we have restored a beautiful granite 18th century carriage house and transformed it into a fully equipped Glampers’ kitchen area. This is open all year round and has everything you should need for your gourmet meal preparations! It has a long dining table with plenty of seating and is ideal for cooking up a feast next to the fire during those cooler months.

Kitchen includes: 

  • A pot bellied wood-burning stove to keep the room cosy
  • Two refrigerators, kettle,  toaster, TV
  • Electric oven, hob cooker and microwave
  • Pots and pans, crockery, cutlery, dish washing machine
  • Brochures of how to explore the area

Game Room-Hang Out Room For Kids

Next door to the Glampers’ Kitchen is the Games Room, which is a lovely old granite converted tractor shed. The games room is great for rainy days and offers plenty of fun activities for kids to stay entertained. It includes:

  • A pool table, a card table, books & board games.
  • There is a toilet and a shower room nearby, all set within the restored traditional farm buildings

Glamping Toilet and Shower Facilities: 

There are 3 flushing toilets and 2 hot showers on the glampsite in total. 2 toilets and 1 shower are located next to La Cabane hangout area.

There is also a fully equipped toilet with shower at the far end of the glamping site next to the Glampers Kitchen area and ample space and privacy to change. The toilets and shower rooms have been designed to be private, spacious and very comfortable, as we know this is important to our guests. The bathroom facilities include: 

  • Fresh hand towels
  • Hand soap, mirror and ample privacy and space to change

What to Bring Glamping

To make sure you’re well prepared, we’ve created a handy go to list below on what we recommend you bring on your glamping holiday in Ireland.  

All year round: 

  • Towels (these are not provided)
  • BBQ Charcoal
  • Firelighters
  • Matches or lighter
  • Marshmallows/smores ingredients
  • Warm clothes

Dog Friendly

  • We are a dog friendly campsite. So long as you can keep your pets on a lead near the sheep and horses you are welcome to bring them here. We have allocated 'Dog Friendly Yurts'.
  • The surcharge is €20 per dog. Maximum number of dogs on site is 2.
